We all have a garden and just so that we’re totally clear about where I’m heading with this discussion…Your garden in this scenario is your mind, which is where your thoughts become actions and your actions become habits. I’m sure there have been some good things that were planted in your childhood and perhaps some…that were not so good. One of my goals as an entrepreneur, is to provide assistance to like minded people who are busy creating opportunities to grow a successful business and to gain more financial independence.
In fact, many of the seeds in my entrepreneurial mind were planted years ago…by people in my community as well as my family. With the help of my Dad, one of those seeds sprouted up and gave me the idea to plan, execute and control all aspects of my very first business…at the age of 11.
Prior to that, another entrepreneurial seed had been planted in my head even before the age of 11. Before food trucks were main stream, Charlie who was married to my aunt owned a candy truck that stayed parked in the culdesac in the heart of Atherton Terrace in Flint Michigan for years. As a child, I spent a lot of time at my grandparents house and I remember playing with childhood friends and going over for visits and seeing one of my friends mother using a sewing machine….I couldn’t have been any older than six or seven years old at the time, and as a result of that exposure (seeds), I learned how to sew and turned that skill into a side hustle, that introduced me to the world of manufacturing that I then made into an additional source of income.
What I didn’t realize then, that I’m keenly aware of now is that some of those seeds sprouted faster than others. Some take little or no effort to grow, while others are extremely expensive and will require specialized resources that I have nurture and factor into my long term strategic plan. I’m here to encourage you to explore several possibilities by doing additional research. One of the ways that I can assist you with doing that research is to look into business ideas and niches. I call them business strategy sessions, but what I also do is show you how to do the research, where you live or perhaps in a location where you dreamed of relocating to in order to pursue your dreams. It’s important to plant all kinds of different types of seeds during different seasons of your life…because you never know which seed will sprout through first. What are you planting in your garden today?
