In 2012, I was laid off from a job that set into motion one of the most depressing times in my life! During that period, I had three children at home and there were times when I only had enough food to make three plates. Me plus three kids should equal four plates of food…but it didn’t always workout that way. My only concern at the time was making sure that my children had enough food to eat. I couldn’t pay my mortgage and I had to settle and take a government job making $19 per hour just to keep the lights on. Fast forward to today and since that time, I have been working very diligently to put measures in place to prevent that episode from ever happening again. Hence the topic of today’s subject. Should you have a side hustle, a business or both? I don’t know anything about your situation in particular, but for me, i decided that I needed to create a structured business, keep a job and maintain a side hustle. Do you have an idea, a skill or a product that you can make available within three years? I believe that you do…we all do. If you need a few ideas to choose from, check out the free content via my YouTube channel. The only advice I have for starting your next stream of income, initially is to start out small at first, but more importantly start and don’t give up especially when things get hard. Hard things are easy to do as long as you have a plan and a checklist.
